Things to consider when contemplating an artwork size include wall space, the amount of detail wanted, the actual size of the subject(s), how many subject(s), and framing. Artwork that is 8x10" will fit in an 8x10" frame if unmatted. With a mat, an 8x10" artwork will likely have an 11x14" frame or even a 16x20" frame depending on the mat size.
